Jim Hidy Bamboo Fly Rod 8'6" 3/3 #5/6A nice Jim Hidy bamboo fly rod, 86, 3 piece, 3 tip, and built for a #5 or #6 line. Hollow built construction. Serial #W25963H 3. The rod weighs 4. 9 ounces on my scale. The current owner tells me that the additional third tip was made for use with a slightly heavier #7 line. Used condition, with some grip soiling, and a scratch and micro chip low down on one tip. No ferrule wrap cracks yet. The cane is blond and done with a three up node pattern. Nice

All wraps are in fine condition

Moderately tempered cane with emerald green wraps and bright crimson tipping

Sliding Band

This is simply a cosmetic issue and in no way does it affect the utility of the reel

and the serial "96-2-12" on the butt

The overall condition is very good and fishable

8" and it weighs 5 7/8 oz

Refinished by Sam Carlson with a testimonial letter dated March 8

Most of the original leading (and lacquer) remains on the reel surface

The reel shows cosmetic use but remains in perfect working condition
