HL Leonard Tournament Bamboo Fly Rod 8' 3/2 #5/6An H. L. Leonard Tournament bamboo fly rod, 8', 3 piece, 2 tips, and built for a #5 or #6. Fast DF action. 4. 3 ounces on my scale. The rod has been refinished and the original owner's name is on the rod. It does not appear to have been used since the refinish. The rod shows a lot more swell than the usual Leonard and this gives it a bit more punch in the butt. Mid 1930's manufacture with the pot belly waist ferrules and the patent date on the butt

This rod has never seen a line

There is a grey felt pad on the brass top

The spool flanges and reel foot are also nickel silver

with a medium-fast dry fly action

Includes original bag with stiffening dowel as well as the original tube with brass fittings

These marks are very shallow in the ebonite and are not visible unless you have the reel at the correct angle in a light source

but I could find no other sign that this reel has been fished

The resistance on the spool is created by two over sized ball bearings and a stainless steel clicker
