Walt Carpenter Special Fly Rod 8' 2/2 #5/6A Walt Carpenter Special bamboo fly rod, 8', 2 piece, 2 tip, and built for a #5 or #6 line. Serial 20280. 4. 8 ounces on my scale. Medium action, maybe a smidge toward medium fast. The rod is mint with the paper still on the grip. Oven tempered cane in a three up node pattern. Tan main wraps with black edges and a band of brown and black at the keeper and male ferrules. The ferrules are step and oxidized. The varnish is superb. The western style grip
The rod is in near mint refinished condition
given most of the 3 inch Dingley or Malloch made caged spool reels weigh anywhere from 5
but is pristine otherwise
