Hardy Perfect Fly Reel 4 1/4" 1912 CheckA very nice Hardy Perfect 4 1 4" wide drum salmon reel with the desirable 1912 check. Excellent overall condition with some loss of finish and normal cosmetic wear, but there are no meaningful condition issues that I could find at all. The reel is nice and tight and the check is wonderfully smooth. Smooth brass foot that is 3 15 16" long and appears completely unmolested. The ivorine handle spins freely and the tension adjuster has the handsome turks

The box measures 6 1/4"  x 3 3/4"  x 1 1/8" with 72 individual clips for the flies

This reel has had a line put on it but has never been fished

Scharffe wasn't afraid to target big fish with it

The action is on the medium side of medium-fast

I believe this reel dates to 1895-1906

so you don't have to worry about the hooks sticking together when you carry it
