Commission 2Mattie is such a joyful painting. After completeing her brothers portrait the year before I was asked to do this one of his little sister.

I take the same fish and print it multiple times on the same sheet of paper

It measures 27cm wide by 114cm tall approximately

The paper is Chinese Xuan Paper and measures 70cm x 35cm

So that means this is actually 19 separate prints

This is on Chinese paper measuring approx 30x30cm and has been mounted using the authentic Japanese wet mounting technique which uses a simple flour and water paste and requires a period of around 24 hours to dry and stretch

This one is on hand made Japanese paper  which has been mounted onto Japanese Mulberry and then Japanese Masa Paper

This is an ancient Japanese method of bonding sheets of paper together to make the print flat and to give it strength
