Menai Strait Lobster, Gyotaku Printed and Wet Mounted.This lobster was caught in a pot by a local fisherman here in North Wales. It was caught in the Menai Strait. The lobster is such a great subject for a coastal artist like myself. Working with local marine species is always my preferred way of working. Lobster are a challenge to print as they are so 3 dimensional. Its very tricky printing the legs and their antenna. This lobster is printed on Chinese mulberry paper measuring 69. 5x34cm. The print is supplied in a white mount with a backing board measuring approx 40cmx51cm

For this I make a flour based glue and use this to bond the print to a second sheet of paper
