Scallop Shell Gyotaku Print, Wet MountedScallop shells have been used so much in art and design they really are very pleasing. They are particularly tied to the Island of Anglesey as they have their own biscuit here. The Aberffraw biscuit is made by pressing biscuit dough into the shell to give it a distinctive shell shape. I glue the first sheet to the second sheet on a board and during this process the print can be completely flattened ready to be framed

The print is then left for around 24 hours to dry out

The same fish has been printed here 4 times and one of the fish has been printed across two separate sheets of paper to make the diptych

Each time you make a print there is a risk the fish will leak or you might not align it correctly and then the fish can unintentionally overlap
