Menai Strait Lobster, Gyotaku Printed in Red ink.This lobster was caught in a pot by a local fisherman here in North Wales. It was caught in the Menai Strait. Lobster are a challenge to print as they are so 3 dimensional. Its very tricky printing the legs and their antenna. This lobster is printed on Chinese mulberry paper measuring 69. 5x34cm. It will be supplied framed as shown and in a white mount which brings the overall measurements to 50cm x 84cm. Ive used a high quality screen printing ink

The two sheets are then left to dry and bond together creating a beautifully flat print

Printed by hand using lightfast

A simple glue which I make myself if applied to the reverse of the print and a sheet of Masa paper is pressed on to it and left to dry

The print is approx 60x39cm

pheasants and hedge hogs

It will be rolled in a poster tube and protected with acid free tissue paper

The print is supplied unframed and without mount boards

To achieve a flat print I use the traditional wet mounting process that has been used in the east for centuries

This process removes all creases from the paper by adding a second backing sheet so effectively this is two sheets of paper not one
