EF Payne 102H Bamboo Fly Rod 8' 2/2 #5/6An E. F. Payne 102H bamboo fly rod, 8', 2 piece, 2 tip and built for what feels like a #5 or #6 line. The rod weighs 4. 1 ounces on my scale. The "102 H" model designation can be found in faint script at the bottom of the hangtag. Fair condition with some varnish bag issues, cracking to the guide wraps, some noticeable wear to the guides, and a grip that has been sandpapered. The balance of the rod is in original condition and that is fairly rare

There is a tiny bit of wobble to the reel foot and to the spool

Original agate is unblemished and is a lovely smoky

so the nick could have come from a drop and not a fishing incident

The rod is in excellent original condition with a few exceptions

Spool has one cusp
