From what I can gather from my research, it was made by Dave Atwood (Volstro) for HL Leonard back in the 1980's. He is said to have built about 200 of these reels but Leonard never took delivery of the reels because they filed for bankruptcy. The diameter is 3 3 4" pillar to pillar. The reel assembles and disassembles very easily

The rod was then finished by the late George Guba
