Tom Morgan Graphite Fly Rod 8'6" 4/1 #4A nice Tom Morgan graphite fly rod, 8'6", 4 piece, 1 tip, built for a #4 line. Serial number 21 4 23. Mint, unfished condition with no signs of use whatsoever. Fast, pleasing action. Dark blank wrapped in dark maroon with gold tipping at the front cork check, signature, ferrules, and tip top. Agate stripping guide with chrome snake guides and tip tops. Spigot ferrules. The grip is 6 1 2" long and shaped to a western ish profile with a pronounced heel

but they are minor and the reel has been well cared for

The rod packs into an eggshell colored cloth bag and an aluminum tube with brass fixtures and the model engraved in the cap

and a few other minor marks here and there

The tube is brushed aluminum with brass fittings (with some oxidation to what I suspect was salt air) and the Leonard data sticker

tight ferrules

Excellent used condition with some minor cosmetic wear in a few places

The screwlock is stamped "Payne" in a cartouche and "Reg Us Pat Off"

An Abel TR-Light fly reel

The reel is left hand retrieve and is in excellent+ condition with only some very slight use marks

The butt cap is stamped with "TOURNAMENT" along with the usual Leonard stamp of this era

A great model for the Winston aficionado
