Ribbed brass foot and duplicated MKII check. No cracks, chips, or dings. The reel comes with a nickel silver line guide that will never crack unlike the agate line guides found on many of these reels. The tension regulator works as intended. Nice strong check throughout its range.
This rod was originally designed for bonefish and salmon but has found a home with all fresh and saltwater fish that require a heavier line
