Georges Roumier Musigny Grand Cru 2005 (Cut Capsule)Here the nose is also discreet and brooding with incredible aromatic breadth that includes similar violet notes but the fruit profile is more black and red than blue plus a kaleidoscopic array of spice elements. Interestingly, in 2005 this is as big and powerful as the Bonnes Mares yet finer with superbly deep and energetic full bodied flavors that are sleekly muscled, all wrapped in palate saturating dry extract and simply mind boggling length.

A pretty and well-layered blend of both red and black pinot fruit is liberally laced with earth

Note that the structure is almost completely resolved

hoisin and a hint of sandalwood

spicy and quite floral nose that features mostly dark berry fruit liqueur-like scents

an aroma of pen ink

The nose offers up cassis

intellectual bouquet with scents of dried honey

spice and violet hints

precise and beautifully chiseled

and length

This isn't quite as floral as the Amoureuses but it's even spicier with its purple fruit
