Linotaku of an AnchovieThis lovely small scale print measures just 4 x 4 inches and is one of my personal favourites from a recent print run. The anchovy was hand carved, based on the form and size of a real anchovy I had previously printed. I used my signature blue and gold acrylic inks, which are both lightfast and permanent. Once printed, the eye was carefully hand painted, and after drying, the piece was wet mounted using the traditional Urauchi process used in Gyotaku,

Producing the print is only the first part of the process

External frame width is 36cm and height is 49cm

The print is on Xuan Paper and the ink is permanent and light fast

5cmx52cm approx  It is printed on Chinese Xuan Paper and is printed in high quality acrylic ink which is both light fast and permanent

Here I have done this once with blue ink

I've always loved printing from the surface of a scallop shell and this print is no exception

using the wheat paste is a ph neutral process and uses less man made chemicals

Printed in sumi ink on handmade Thai Mulberry paper with layered Masa backing

My first step is to flatten the print using a technique called Urauchi
