1940s Victorian Powder Jar Courting Figural Powder Box JapanHere's a gorgeous 1940's Victorian figural courting scene porcelain powder jar or box that was made in Japan. It's in wonderful condition with no chips, cracks; and is hallmarked in red on the bottom "Japan". It measures approximately 6 inches in height and is about 5 inches across the bottom. When you open the top of the case you will find a covered loose powder compartment with the La Mode puff

The only issue we could find is some slight tarnish to the ribbed adjustable focusing flywheel that is on the handle

but it almost looks like it should be that way

and original powder puff

as does the spring loaded clip that holds your ciggies in place

This set would make a perfect bridal or wedding gift for the bride

It measures approximately 3 inches by 2 1/2 inches and is about 3/8th's inches in thickness

This piece comes in a black gift box

and measures 3 1/2 inches in width

It has two spring loaded coin holders

They were bought out by Reed & Barton back in 1950
