Alfred Wahlberg, Coastal View With SailboatsA beautiful late 19th century oil painting depicting a coastal view with sailboats by Swedish artist, Alfred Wahlberg (1834 1906). It was probably painted outside with the sea view stretching out in front of him. Wahlberg was a fascinating artist who is considered to be one of the first to bring the French impressionistic style of painting to Sweden. He initially painted in a traditional manner with careful attention to every branch, stone and figure.
