The artist has rendered this scene beautifully particularly in the handling of the light shimmering on the water. Through the centre of the composition, dapples of blue turn to bright white as ripples
subtle and devoid of people and I do wonder whether he was continually painting his own home

which is enhanced by its loose brushwork

The painting is monogrammed/dated in the lower right and housed within a gilded frame
